Australian MotoGP 2024

oldironnow
… sponsored by Qatar Airways, which was a little disorienting when dropping in on a press conference…
I thought I clicked onto the wrong race.

The little I watched featured Bagnaia saying “rain on Friday. Wind on Saturday. Maybe good for Sunday.”
So, Phillip Island is still doing its Spring gyrations.

Then there was an attempt to patch in a remote Acosta. The sound went bad, and I gave up on it.

I’m so excited I can’t wait… even though they are calling for rain and high winds this weekend. I’m hoping MM will be on the top step in one of the races.

MotoGP FP1 in less than an hour away, and PR at 11pm cst

Watching a Moto2 practice right now.

Wet/damp/sunny/ cloudy …

Noticing that the Gresini/QJMotor team have their bikes out there with no branding.

Thanks for finding that.
It might say “number one” to the rider’s left of the sun.

That bird looked to be too stout to risk ramming.
The Cape Barren goose turns out to be about three feet long and a chunky 12 pounds.

At 12 pounds it would be a good rotisserie bound bird.

Fantastic Sprint and race.
The sprint was great throughout. At lap 11 of the Race it really started getting interesting. I thought (or maybe wished) Bagnia, Marc and Martin were going to do battle for the remaining of the race but Marc and Martin were just to fast for Bagnia.
Marc was really strong and reminded me why he is an 8 time world champion.
Great to see it again.

The penalty to Bezzechi for slamming into Vinny was horse hockey imo. Vinny was more responsible for that collision. Bez tried to stop but because of the wind drag caused when Vinny cut in front of Bez, after passing Bez, there wasn’t any downdraft on Bez’s wings to put load on his front tire so it locked up causing the crash.
That’s my only complaint of the session.

When I was watching the build up of the race. Simon said that Bezzecchi was penalized because his data showed that he was off the gas when Mav passed him, he then got back on the gas and braked way pass his brake marker on previous laps.

Re: Australian MotoGP 2024

So I catch this GP when Donna says “hey,
there’s a motorcycle race on.  You want me to record it?”
It’s Monday night, nothings on, was a great surprise.

Yes. A very good race.  Beautiful track. Bikes looked awesome.  The camera work couldn’t be better.

The only thing missing was a Rossi.

Martin ya, heck of an effort.

But I remember thinking……if 46 was still around, there would be dark blue paint all over the 93 bike.

And a good chance someone would have been in the gravel.
