They're at it again!

With hazy sapping the Red Bull Ring's standard stunning visual appeal, MotoGP nonetheless is running this weekend on a lightly modified track.

Team oldironnow goes 1,2,5 in Q, and the owner smiles quietly to himself...

So GP "Sprint Races" are copying the WSBK superpole race only they won't affect grid positions in the full Sunday race. I guess in that case I have to say what's the point? An extra balls-out race increases rider risk without giving them any benefit besides potential points. If the riders have accepted this that must mean the sport is in some trouble and huge pressure from the powers that be has been applied.
Or there’s a case of greed going on at DORNA.

First thing I thought of was MotoAmerica, not that the way Wayne is and always has done it, just that those in Madrid are thinking, why not?  WSK does it. America does it. Look at all the money we are leaving on the plate.

I dunno.  I’m still pissed American Motocross Nationals
now run on Saturday.
Call me an old f&$k.  Call me a traditional living in the past.
I don’t give a hoot.

Motorcycle races are for Sunday afternoon.

That modified 2a, 2b, is vicious!
I guess something needed to be done to keep the Duc's from taking 1st through 8th.

I get it. They need more interest in the sport. We really need more interest in motorcycle's period..

I like it. A practice race of sorts.
Racing is more on the edge of your seat viewing than a FP but what about the riders? Does this give them more of a chance of an injury?
These guys look exhausted after a 25 lap race. Now they will have to race a 13 lap race and try squelch the adrenalin and be rested up the next day to do it again times 2.

Guys like Jack and Marc are for it buy Fabio and Aleix or not.
I'm looking forward to it.

Great race. I gotta give Fabio a bonus day off after that one. He quite possibly was the best rider out there on this one. He danced with the best of them wearing two left shoes.
That move at turn 2a,2b was fantastic. Even Jack had nothing good to say about that one.

Bagnia did a great showing from the start. Held it right. Gave the others not a chance. Jack said something to the effect "I showed him half my wheel, then he hammered down and I was like a dog with my tongue out."

Bummer Aleix had the hole shot device malfunction. Kind of made him loose his mojo at start but he did ok after he got his bearings back together. 6P not bad after that.

Zarco didn't crash!!!
Mir did. I think he's shooting for the most wrecked Zuk's in a season. It's not like they need them after this year. Tear'em up Mir.
Who needs Crash test dummies?  Is that too harsh?

Not much to say about Honda except that Marquez was there to give some support.
I wonder if you should of just phoned it in and stayed home for some fresh paella.

I like the way the tension builds to Sunday.
Sunday means something.
I think it diminishes the spectacle.
