Back in the day, the golden years some say,
they were one of about 4 or 5 makes that were the shit.
Ossa. Husquvarna. Montesa. CZ. Maico. Bultaco.
Sure, there were others.
But, make no mistake.
The Bultaco was a very big part of it.
Fun fact.
Mid 70s, I believe 1974, it was mandated all motorcycles sold in the USA had to be left hand shift.
At the time, most all European bikes were right hand shift.
Japanese, left.
It think it was the Astro’s, built mainly for the American flat track scene, the transmission shifting shaft
went completely thru the motor, with splines on both sides.
Shift right, shift left, it didn’t matter.
They could go either way.
