Harley Davidson 2026 Sprint

Looks like Harley is bringing back the Sprint name but not the sprint look.
Is supposed to be their new entry bike at around $6k.
Article says it’s not a rebadged 350.
No info on motor size but I’m sure it’s going to be an import drive train.
Maybe assembled in USA????

I think it’s a smart move on their part to get the younger generation into the HD club.

Cool.  I saw where there is a pretty big fight going on with the top brass.  HD not having an entry bike for the last few years is a big thing for a lot of the shareholders.
Hopefully this helps them a bit.

I dunno.
Many are saying the sky is falling, but around my town HD is strong.
10am at the local restaurant, there were just as many bikes across the street.
At noon the place was pretty much surrounded with bikes,
mostly black and orange.

Dunno if it was a club, or charity, or just a loose bunch of
guys getting out.

But believe it, HD lives.

Around here anyway.

I don’t see the sky falling on HD. They’ve been around too long and have been through tougher times.
I do see them being a smaller HD than what the been counters want and are used too.

The 2000’s were just a big boom and they want to stay there. Unfortunately it’s just not going to happen unless they act like a car manufacturer by selling low priced entry bikes, middle of the road bikes for the everyday man and the full bells and whistle bikes for those with the extra cash.
Either way I don’t think the sales of the 2000’s are going to happen anytime soon. Just not enough interest in motorcycles anymore.

It seems at least once a month , or maybe more, I hear of someone that used to ride stepped away because of age and fear of all the idiots cages on the rode paying more attention to phones and electronics in the dash than the direction they are going.

The more cars and trucks get away from the old fashioned buttons for radio, temperature controls, etc the worse it’s going to get.

My wife just traded in her 13 Mustang for a new one. The digital dash is about the size of a wave board. Everything is digital on the car so you have to look at the dash to change radio and such. I like her 2013 much better. It had dials and buttons.
She’s smart enough and has enough patience not to mess with it while driving. Not many are.

This guy usually annoys me just by talking. He talks fast and loud but he does make some good points now and then.

Why not make a small vtwin like what Yamaha did with its little 250? It looks more Harley like than the new Sprint.
A single cylinder was fine at 350cc. The original Sprint looked pretty cool with its front leading cylinder. This vertical cylinder looks imported.

Of course maybe the new riders could care less about the history of the vtwin.
I hope it sells good and is not treated like the red-headed step child in the show room. That will make or break it.

lol…….he does have a squeaky voice.

I’d like to see them maybe go back in time with marketing.
Do they still have those patches they used to give out for riding 100,000 miles or something?
Maybe put a few bikes in some TV shows.
Like the Then Came Bronson thing.
Sponsor a Coast to Coast ride or kind of race and televise it. Like these reality tv shows.
Maybe sponsor a few big name rock bands that are touring.

I dunno.  Somehow they gotta make it cool.
And current.

The guy is right in one respect, killing those last 883 models was a very big mistake.

Hell, I wouldn’t mind having that flat black one myself.

harley dash aint any different then cars are the days.

rolls royce doesnt build  entry cars. ferrari doesnt build entry cars.
and harley is stupid wasting money on failure after failure.
entry bike , especially  non usa made bike, will further cheapen the brand.
sprints originally won a world championship, these Thailand sprints  won't win nothing.
buell blasts anyone? how about a 500 or 750 baby vrod? the new Nightster is a fail. live wire is a fail, pan america is weird.
these euroASS hats that   run harley are socialists. its like everyone should have a harley even the poor.   no! return harley to its rightful elite status and make motorcycles that are big harleys. get rid of half the floor dedicated to
motorclothes and expand service bays. and work on any harleys made since at least joe pertrali. the key to expanding HD base is to service Americans in american dealerships by american mechanics. expand hiring service writers and parts  counter people.  seeing old iron on the road is what will inspire new buyers and inspire youth , not another asian tiddler.
Inflation belongs in your tires.
Not in your grocery bill.

You make some good points Hacksaw.
The problem is these new ceo dorks are listening to shareholders who are more than likely non riders instead of the people that actually buy Harleys.

Harley was their strongest when they sold Evo sportsters ( the entry level bike), the dynas, softails and tours. You would think that they would see that worked.
Yes sales went down but so did every other bike manufacturers. The roller coaster was on a downhill. It was bound to happen.
What goes up must come down, spinning wheel got to go ‘round.

HD should have spent money and time figuring out how the Evo sporty could pass euro emissions. China’s figured it out. They started from scratch. Well not totally. They did the typical Chinese thievery copying and then modifying to meet euro standards.
I can’t help but wonder if the Dyna is not in their sites.

The new Softail was a nice revamp but it shouldn’t have taken over the Dyna line. They did it to cut corners by dropping another frame line disappointing the Dyna faithful.
Did they do any surveys before making these changes? I doubt it. Bike rally’s would be the best place to find out instead of asking the bean counters.

I’m glad that they are making an entry point bike. I just wish it was an American made bike.

The more I’ve thought about these entry bikes I’m starting to think that they are using these bikes to get newbie’s into the fold so that when the other models start being made overseas are more excepted because they aren’t rooted into American iron.

I can’t forget that the 2025 Sportsters and Pan American were built overseas. I’m curious as to where the 2026’s are going to be manufactured.
It’s not like I’m looking to buy one it will just give a viewing of what the future will be for the MOCO.
