Wind noise . Well that will help you go deaf .
Anywzy I might get one of those German looking things for riding my bmw. I would like to get a true pickelhaben but so far I haven’t done so.
I enjoy the wind bowing thru my face and what’s left of my hair. I miss that as much as anything else .
But helmets help against sun. There wasn’t a helmet law last I was in the Philippines but there is now.
But I used a half helmet bcz of the sun.
My neck doesn’t like helmets. And I can’t stand full face helmets. Idk how anybody can. But I don’t care really anywzy what others do.
Yes rt 50 sounds great!
Enjoy the foliage.

A Pickelhaben would look cool. Too many people see it as a Nazi only thing when they weren’t the ones to come up with it. There are still other countries using it in military dress. Looks like Chili, Columbia and Sweden are still using it.

I had one of those German helmets at one time. It acted as a parachute. The wind would pull up on it. I gave it away. I think he threw it away.
It would probably be ok for putting around town.

I used to hate full face helmets but a comfortable one in the rain with out a windshield or in the winter can be nice to have on hand.
The thinner my skin gets the more I like them.
After last weekends moisture ride I actually just ordered a retro Bell Bullitt. I like the large opening over the more modern helmets. That color design is on close out so I saved about 50%.

I hope you also get to get out and enjoy the fall colors.
I’m really looking forward to hearing about your Beemer adventures. It’s a beautiful bike and would look great with a trail of swirling leaves following behind you.

I don’t think the nazi used pikelhabaun
The last one was the old chancellor whom died in 193? Which made way for Hitler

Thsts a good looking  helmet
Maybe they have a 3/4?
I think zohonker bought one of those wider face opening Bells. But he hated it.
Not for me. I have wicked thin skin . But I have tree allergy and reflux
I have to be able to spit.
That helmet match’s the dyna superglide commemorative
Of the “72. I did  have a bubble shield and some flip up that fit 3 1/4 helmets.
Iron Cross isn’t nazi either
I am sensitive to people’s ignorance but so be it
My friends in Murdercycles MC their patch is iron cross . I will
Use their stickers on the modern biker German helmet
If I find the right one . Some of the helmet don’t quite have the right shape .
Anyway it’s counter culture symbolism . Indian Larry wore the “Surfer Cross” for decades.surfer cross msybe b4 your time.
It’s really a Maltese Cross from the Middle Ages and has become the symbol of firemen as a result,

Tidbit for today.

Back in the 50s to maybe the 2000s,
in Europe, at the big meets, dirt wise,
there was a color code for each Nation.
Italy was a white helmet, if you were a German, you rode with a black helmet, Belgium was yellow and so on.

If you were an American, your helmet was blue with 2 white stripes going from front to back in a kind of V.

Back in the 70s/80s I painted mine like that.

Most didn’t notice it. If you weren’t into it, you didn’t know. It’s mainly a dirt thing, but I rode the street with it.

Every now and then a guy would walk up to me at the
pump, mention the helmet, and it was like instant friendship.

Yeah, one of those Star Wars Bell Mag 9s, blue with a white V.
That be me.

I finally got to get out for a short ride after work on Sachmo. First ride since the dog bite in September and the leg infection's that followed.
I was a bit shaky in the morning for the short ride to work and the first couple miles after work. It was mainly at stops. Left knee still painful and doesn’t like backing the bike so I had to do it off the bike.
Once I got going out of traffic and on familiar back roads I started getting more comfortable and was able to have some fun in the curves.
I was a bit taken back that certain muscles that haven’t been used for so long were sore for such a short ride but it sure feels good to get the knees in the breeze.

I’m so thankful that Hacksaw sold me the Bonnie. I don’t think I’d be ready for my heavy hogs just yet.
The Bonnie is perfect weight and handles as beautifully as it looks.
Thanks again Kieth.

This helmet came in after the leg issues so I hadn’t had a chance to try it out until now.
The large opening gives the best view I’ve ever had in a full face. Doesn’t block the view at all like most full face helmets do.
It not only looks vintage but sounds vintage as well. I think it’s the noisiest full face I’ve ever worn.
It does let enough wind in that my mustache and beard moved around so it won’t get to hot inside. It was 85 and sunny during my ride and didn’t get hot. Big plus.
It did fit kinda tight from being new, it’s a small but medium was too large.
When I got home I took a rubber ball leftover from physical therapy, deflated it, shoved it into the helmet and inflated it to let it do the break in for me to save me the headaches.
I’m pretty happy with it despite the noise. Well worth the trade off of a great open view.
