I was actually hoping to see an American run the race. He was up into 8th at one point during FP2. . You meet some of the best folks behind bars. |
So with mixed weather practice sessions we have a mixed bag for a Race-Day grid. Pol gets pole, with Rins and Nakagami also on the front row, so I'm thinking they could dominate the race? Dovi, Quartararo, and recent shining, Marquez start way down on rows 4 & 5, so will have their work cut out if they are to be a threat. Rossi's late appearance means he starts way down in 18th, and the 2nd Team Ducati rider, Petrucci, is one position behind him in 19th! And with Vinales starting from pit lane, well, enough said. A strange line up during what has to be the strangest year.....................my prediction is: 1) Rins 2) Zarco 3) Miller . |

Boy,, the weather sure is making it tough on the aliens
Quartararo just can’t get it together lately. Could he be another flash in the pan? Zarco went through the same thing awhile back. Came out of the gate a screaming but later fell to the back of the pack. He just recently started to show some good results. With Vinales coming from the pits Quartararo and Dovi are team Fat2’s only chance of making any points. I’m predicting that Mir finally gets a podium. My picks for this one is RinS Mir Miller. . Just watched qualifying.
Allred's pics are solid, IMO. But checking weather, it could be dry. It could be an unusually cluster-battle of a Valencia. Strangest year.

Nice race. Good to see Mir hit the top step. The Zooks and their riders were on it. Although my bride thinks Rins let Mir through on purpose.
The Yamahas are giving it away it seems. Quartararo just can’t get it together. Vinales did pretty good considering his starting position. I hope he can make this engine last the next two races. I sure hope the Yamaha team can do better next go around but I’m not holding my breath. . You meet some of the best folks behind bars. |
I FINALLY got to watch the race at 7:00pm Sunday evening, that's when Dish Network decided to air it due to there being more important things on at race time......like re-runs of Monster-Jam! And they also included commercials this time, so there were two separate portions I didn't get to see, one minute Rossi was there, then the next he wasn't, etc., etc.
Anyway, excellent performance by the Suzuki team, their improvement late last year and this year has been amazing. Once again Quartararo let me down in the CycleVisor League, Dovi didn't do much better, and I expected more of Miller. . |
Caught up.
I agree with your Bride, FFB. It seems to me Rins did a gentlemanly thing for his team/manufacturer, and decided to defend a one-two finish instead of making it a hassle for Mir to pass. An odd race, but not boring. There were a lot a transitions throughout. The most important being the capitulation of Yamaha as a competent force in MotoGP.

Ya, I did not see the race till 9:30 pm on Sunday. I guess Ninja Warrior pulls more viewers. I know one thing, we do this again, for whatever series, I'm buying the streaming package. |
If it is at all affordable in one's life, I cannot more encourage buying the streaming package.
