In the world of observed trials, which are broken into indoor and outdoor championships, the current champion
is from Spain. His name is Toni Bou. ![]() What’s remarkable about Toni? Well, he’s been the World Champion, well, to put it into perspective, bothindoors and outdoors, since 2007. Remember Sammy Miller? The Brit? He had 2. How about Dougie Lampkin. The other Brit? He had 12. Toni Bou? Since 2007, he has never been defeated. Both indoors and outdoors. Toni, 38 World Championships, and counting. All on Montesa. American Supercross, is set to start January 10, as usual at Angels Stadium in California. Triumph has both a 250 and 450 this year. Top prospects to win it this year, Hagan Deegan on the 250 Yamaha, and Jett Lawrence on the 450 works Honda. In motogp land, it’s said Aprilla has their bike working as well as the Ducati. Say what they will, with MM still on Red, he/they have to be the favorite to trap the brass ring again. In baggerland, Kyle Wyland returns to defend his AMA Championship on his factory Harley. The bagger thing keeps growing, with Motogp running I believe 8 events with them. All 8 teams will be on Harley. Oh, and if you’ve always thought about it, and might still be able to do it, and can afford it…….. https://accordion-gold-mh26.squarespace.com/2026-adv-cannonball-rally |

Ahhh…..1/2/2026.
A fresh start. If one believes in that. Motogp talk is mostly about The Guy That Came From WSK. Toprak Razgatlioglu 3 time Champion from World Superbike is set to join Jack Miller at the factory Yamaha Motogp team. He says it’s gonna take a year, or one season, to really get the hang of the whole Motogp thing. Did you know, for about $20 bucks, you could be a part owner of Harley Davidson? That’s right. That’s what a share was selling for at the close of business today. Back in 2023 that same share cost about $50. With the new CEO, and a new approach who knows. Today’s $20 might turn into next years $50. Either way, for $100 bucks, I mean, can you even get a Harley t shirt with matching bandana for a c note at the dealer? Was gonna put up something about NHRA PRO Motorcycle Top fuel Drag racing. But, after looking around, the story is, and has been, for a long, long time, like 20 years, Larry McBride. AKA The Spider-Man. He’s running again, looking to make it 20 motorcycling Drag Racing Championships. At 66 years old, he holds the top speed in the 1/4 mile at 267mph, done in 5.5 seconds. If you get a chance to attend one of his races this year, I mean, you’ll see a living legend. Here’s Larry, doing what Larry does. https://youtu.be/9qFy9JiRrFI |

In motogp, the new colors and logos are starting to appear. Aprilla is sticking with flat black kind of, but have added a past insignia, the lions head. ![]() Mark Marquez is back on a motorcycle this week. Not Ducatis Motogp bike, they are only allowed to practice a certain time and place by Dorna, or Liberty, whoever owns Motogp now. He’s doing laps on a Pingale. Speaking of MM, he’s real close to 100 GP wins, and I believe 3 GP wins to tie or pass Rossi with this stat. American Supercross started this week in Kalaforna this week. Eli Tomac, after switching from the factory Yamaha to the factory KTM, wins the opener. https://youtu.be/oeYqMLfw1FU Look at that crowd. Does anyone else but motogp pull that many people? America has a guy making us proud this week. After about a dozen rounds of Dakar, he’s like 3 hours in the lead going into the final round. Supposed to have ran like 450 some miles in one of the rounds in one day. 450 miles in the dirt, flat out, in one day. Skylar Howe. Learned to ride on motorcycles he built from his dad’s salvage yard. Now a player on the world stage. ![]() Harley stock inches up about $1 to about $21 dollars a share. We signed up for the guys that run American Flat Track newsletter. This is what they put out this week. DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (January 14, 2026) – Building on a half-decade of momentum, Progressive American Flat Track is proud to announce that its expansive partnership with Mission Foods® will continue for a sixth consecutive year in 2026. Mission Foods, the world’s leading brand for tortillas and wraps, has been a cornerstone supporter of Progressive American Flat Track since the partnership began in 2021. Through its steadfast commitment, Mission Foods has been instrumental in elevating the series' national profile and expanding audience awareness across the sport. In addition to its sponsorship of Progressive American Flat Track, Mission Foods has actively supported several innovative initiatives aimed at increasing fan engagement. This commitment to the sport is set to continue throughout the 2026 season. Mission Foods returns as the title sponsor for the premier Mission AFT SuperTwins class and as the Official Tortilla, Chip, and Salsa of Progressive American Flat Track. The renewed partnership also includes the return of the Mission #2Fast2Tasty Challenge and the season-ending Mission Foods Awards Party, while continuing the brand's high-profile role as the title sponsor of the Mission Triple Challenge, which debuted in 2025 at select events, for the Mission AFT SuperTwins. “We are very proud to continue our partnership with American Flat Track as the title sponsor of the SuperTwins class, the Mission #2Fast2Tasty Challenge, and the Mission Triple Challenge,” said Juan Gonzalez, Mission Foods Chief Executive Officer. “These platforms give Mission a meaningful way to connect with racing fans and help create unforgettable moments on the track.” The Mission Triple Challenge format brings an exciting shakeup to three high-stakes events throughout the year, beginning with the season opener at the Daytona International Speedway Flat Track. The Mission Triple Challenge turns up the heat with three races of escalating intensity and challenge points to determine each event’s ultimate victor. The three Mission Triple Challenge events will be the Royal Enfield Short Track at DAYTONA II, Lima Half-Mile I, and Springfield Mile I. Mission Foods has established these events as the most lucrative on the calendar by offering increased prize money through an escalating bonus structure. Winners of the Mission Triple Challenge will take home $2,500 for Race 1 and $5,000 for Race 2, totaling $7,500 in incentives alone before heading into the third and final race of the event. By the time the final race begins, the potential for a massive payday has already reached a fever pitch, cementing these events as appointment viewing. At all other rounds, Mission Foods will keep the intensity high with the most exciting four laps in all of flat track thanks to the Mission Foods #2Fast2Tasty Challenge. Four qualifying Mission SuperTwins riders will leave it all out on the track in a winner-takes-all, no-points, four-lap shootout, with the winner taking home $5,000. That makes the Mission Foods #2Fast2Tasty Challenge one of the highest challenge-specific payouts in all of dirt track racing. Mission Foods remains committed to growing the sport’s audience through widespread fan activations and retail marketing. By featuring branded athletes on grocery store displays across the country, Mission Foods ensures that Progressive American Flat Track maintains a high-profile presence both at the track and in the national marketplace. The 2026 Progressive American Flat Track season will launch with the Royal Enfield Short Track at DAYTONA I & II at Daytona International Speedway on Thursday, March 5 and Friday, March 6. And here in West Virginia, today, January 15th, a guy was spotted riding what appeared to be an older Sportster to work. I mean, it was 7:30 am. It was about 15 degrees. Half the road was solid ice. He had to be going to work. |
