MotoGP is at PI this weekend. One of my favorite rounds on the calendar. Unfortunately It looks to be the last one for MGP for a while, as the Australian round has been replaced with the Adelaide Street Circuit for 2027 (At least WSBK will be at PI next year

)
The Championship sure is heating up between Marc & Jorge with Bezz still in reach. I’m torn on who I want to take the top step at the end of the season. I love to see MM get his 10 one….but I also like to see Aprilia to get their first.
Ya I saw that.
Next year they leave Phillip Island and run thru
some little town. You’re right, Adelaide. From what I understand, this little town is on the mainland, and people from Australia will be able to attend without having to get on a boat or fly in.
I hear they are trying to make this new track as safe as possible. Pulling up trees, rerouting the road a bit, but the thing is, it’s gonna be a street track. I don’t care how many straw bales or whatever. Those bikes can pull 225mph or so. And they will run thru downtown, on public asphalt. Kinda like Isle of Mann.
I mean, what could go wrong?
Did you notice, this weekend, another first in motogp.
F1, yes, the car guys, are running this round in Texas,
at the COTA track.
And they are gonna have a sort of exhibition.
4 motogp bikes are gonna do laps before their car event.
I believe the riders are factory test riders, and a vet or 2.
I think Pedrosa is gonna ride.
Apparently, the owners of F1 and motogp are thinking about an event in the future. Both F1 and Motogp run a round, a points paying GP for each series, at the same track, on the same weekend, in the future.
I know that would be a hard one to miss. The fastest cars, the fastest motorbikes, in the world really, in one weekend.
I dunno how you could have both bikes and cars run on the same day.
If they dropped the Sprint races, ran bikes on Saturday, and cars on Sunday, imagine
what the parties would be like in the camping areas😄
