Anyone up for a Moto GP and or MotoAmerica league?

Was thinking, they start running, pick either the 2 top guys to finish the series in the big bikes, or the winners of the 2 top classes.  Thoughts?

I’m in on Motogp.
It’s really the only one I have time to watch.

OK.  let's see if we can at least do the Motogp series.
Pick one rider out of Motogp. One out of motogp2.
Or, 2 out of Motogp.
Thoughts, take a few days.

Ok, so it looks as tho the first inkling of what to expect this year, as far as rider and equipment is concerned, is a test
July 15.  And the first race 4 days later on the 19th.

I’m thinking pick 3 riders in motogp.
Each of us will basically have a team.

We keep score by points awarded as per Dorna points won by each rider at each event. Total points accumulated per team at the end of the series ‘is the winner.

If a guy has a rider hurt, or doesn’t pass a drug test, and will miss a following round, a substitute can be chosen.
That’s the only way a guy can alter his team riders during the season. No limit on how many times this can be done.

Team picks must be in by, let’s say, July 18, midnight EST.

I’m in. Thanks for setting up the rules.

With the delay and all that is going on I wonder how the riders will be able to adjust to the changes.
I know Márquez will be the top of my picks just because he seems to be able to adjust to just about any situation.

I'm slow, but I think I understand.

We can all pick the any three riders, and technically we could all pick the same set, but the difference will be in position 'three'.

Yes.   We could all pick MM and Rossi, but the 3rd guy would have to be a different rider.

I thought about it a lot.

With just 2 riders from Motogp, well, that narrows the talent down pretty quick.
Anyone coming in late, say 3 weeks from now, wouldn't have a good shot at picking the top guys.
Plus, with 3, someone could have all three of his guys on the box if he gets lucky.

Was thinking, 1 rider each from Motogp, Moto 2 and moto3.   I'd like to get an American in there, I ain't gonna lie. But, keeping track of all 3 classes might be a bit too much.

The replacement thing , we ran one of these at the old CW site for Supercross one year, and a few guys got burned with injuries early on when they lost riders.  You lose a rider, or rider, you get to pick a replacement, as long as it doesn't make your team match another already in place.

I say we go 3 riders from Motogp.  Think of yourself a multi millionaire, hiring the best you can to form a team to win the championship, on total points awarded to your team.

Which begs the final issue.

How can we be fair, picking the teams..?
Just start now?  Wait 24 hours after the test at Juarez on the 15th?
I'm thinking first come first serve, starting at midnight, on the 17th of July, EST.

If enough sign up, a thread dedicated to this league will go up on or around the 15th.

Good luck boys.

A good place to get a grip on what happened last year.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/2019_MotoGP_season#Results_and_standings

A few thoughts.

93 has to be on everyone's list one would think.
But, he's so on the edge one wonders if the law of averages is due on him wrecking out.

His brother, you'd think he has the speed, he knows the tracks, it's just will he be able to wring that big bike out to it's full potential.

46, he's either just milking it, or just might be thinking damn the torpedos,
I'm going out a champion.

Dovi, he just broke his collarbone.  Granted, plated that is something a guy can ride with.   But it's gonna be a short season.  I'd think all are going to be going full tilt boogie right from the start.
Time he's healed completely, the series could be over.

Vinales, I'd think he's a solid pic.  Same with Petrulli. Same with Rins. I'd like to see Crutchlow grab a win or 2.

At this point in time,  good picks imo,  9,12,93.  9,73,93. 4,42,93. And if u go strictly off last years results, it would have to be 12,42,93.

I know, no 46.  Just being a realist.

Yeah,,, I'm thinking there might be a few glasses of milk involved here. There is a lot of money being made off the 46 cash cow from more than just the cow itself.
Yamaha and Dorna to name a couple plus all the others sucking on that tit like AGV, Monster, Movistar, etc.

If and when he leaves the GP there will be a lot of people looking for another calf. Who will it be.
Quartoro?

Auughh,,, Just realized, non-motogp fans will be invading the house both Saturday and Sunday for pool side fun.
I knew that hole in the yard would cost me more than expected.

Mmmmm,, must figure out a way to setup the big screen by the grill.

Is this still the rule? Coming late to the party ...

My main cheering target this year will be Roberts in Moto2.

The heavy rotation on Spanish tracks will favor Marc, his brother, and Fabio. But I won't be picking that trio, exactly.
Ya, I think that's fair.  Give those that don't get the live feed 2 days to see what happened at the test.
I tried getting ahold of u Mad, and the others, but the emails didn't go thru......was hpoein you'd show up.  I gotta get us a better forum provider.  If fat2 or anyone has the other guys emails maybe drop em a line?

What is it with Quartoro?
If you look at last years results, he's top qualifier in a few rounds, but wins none.
