MotoAmerica Laguna Seca 2022

oldironnow
So much chaos.
Had to fly to Wisconsin for eldercare.
Ate most of this past week’s vacation, but i threw the SecaHut on the truck Saturday morning with the help of a wonderful new friend, and we enjoyed a couple of races late yesterday and are enjoying morning warmups now.

Maybe a Twins Cup Yamaha with Wayne Rainey behind chatting up a kid.

Man, I’ve been so busy I’ve had no time for the American racing.
I’m glad you got to enjoy.

We were watching the King of the Baggers. When the three winning Harleys (yeah buddy) interred the winners circle I saw just how tall these bikes are. Kyle Wyman left leg has to drag across the seat as he leans way to the right when getting off.

It appears the ground clearance is around 8-10" on the things.

Roadracing World had a good article earlier this year on the HD entries.

High stance noted. Öhlins developed longer legs for the class.

The pegs are on the cases.
The heads have larger fins.
The swingarms are machined billet.
The horn cover went back on to cool the rear cylinder.
There's a pommel on the the tank to enable hanging off.
There's a huge oil cooler in the fairing to keep the oil weight down. If they have to go up in weight, power gets sapped.

It was great you went to Laguna. I wish it was an hour or two away from me instead of 4-5 (6-7 the interesting way) 😳

I watched a couple of the races live on the feed then caught the highlights of the others on You Tube. Crowd looked sparse but they didn't really show much except for the start/finish grandstand.  Numbers just posted today say 35,000 visits over the weekend. Not too bad, but not great either. Maybe next year all of us poor planners will pull our finger our and get our asses there 🤨
See you all next year!

Thank you for the info.
Curious, how does the horn cover cool rear cylinder?
Is there a fan in it?

Good question, and I have no data.
My guess is no fan, just a scoop to direct air back there. Very Buell. Mine has scoops on both sides.
