That’s s pretty good looking bike, but the gap above the rear tire is a bit much. I usually don’t care about it, but in this case it’s a lot… but it actually even kind of works to make it look like a street-legal motoXer.

I still think the rear fender is too high
I am sure there could be a way to lower it.
But idk

I have some interest in the Speed 400, especially dressed in red.

With its 31.4" seat height touching pavement shouldn't be an issue. The 39 horses should have no issues pushing it's 375 # wet weight with my 175 pounds to it's claimed top speed of 100 mph.
The big 43mm front disc brake upfront will have plenty of stopping power to slam the speed down to dive into a turn. It gives about 5" travel out of its rear mono shock  and the same 5" upfront for soaking up those after winter craters in the pavement.

I'd like to test ride one to see what the vibrations are are like. The biggest complaint I had with the RE is the vibrations in the pegs anything above 45-50 mph. If I was only riding around town are at 45 mph it's a great bike but once I got over 55 mph it felt like I was going to blow it apart. At that speed the pegs vibrated so much the souls of my feet would itch.
The RE is a much better looking bike though, IMO.
I do believe the Triumph is less expensive at $5000.
I did find a new one in Indy that a guy one but says it's to small for him. I think he only wants $4100 for it. I'd probably wait for them to be a 2-3 years old to pick one up for less money, unless a new bike bug bites me.

I'm trying to hold of on buying anything until I get my truck finished and garage built.

Re: RE Classic vs TRI 400

What year was your RE?
I am
Not sure it was the same motor as these.

I am not sure about mono shocks.
I do prefer twin shocks over what the softsils used to run. Yes they were twin shocks but rode more like monos.

I doubt the triumph is cheaper. Not by enuff to make a diff.
I thought they felt high to get a leg over despite the published seat height. That high in the air back fender is a problem . Seat height is meaning less if I can’t get a leg over to sit down .
Also set up fee I thought was high . I don’t recall it , but freight and set up was a lot.

I did test ride the old RE classi 500 this was a unit construction model  I don’t recall any buzzing but of course I was on a group ride and don’t think we went much around 65mph
The new 350 with Efi may be different.

4 Ct dealers. None have the halcyon green bike.
It seems they don’t stock many anyway.
I wouldn’t be interested in any RE not the 350 classic.
Maybe the new 650 classic as they
Do have a big more kit available.
Of course I still have my hinkley Bonnie so I don’t think I would make a change in that cc range.

Mine was a 2016 Classic. Beautiful bike. I liked looking at it more than riding it so time for it to go.
The motor was EFI unit construction. I lot of guys get a lot of miles out of them and there has even been world trackers using them.
I wish I could of been able to get used to it.
The dealer I bought it from quit selling them about a year after I bought mine. We didn't have a dealer around for awhile. The Ducati/BMW Dealer picked them up recently. They only have three new 2023 still for sale. Two classics and one Meteor. All 350 cc. Asking $4k for them. Hard sell around these wide open parts.
He has some used ones for sale. A 22 350 Classic ($3200), 24 Meteor 650 ($5800) and a 24 Shotgun 650cc $5700). They all have less than 1000 miles on them. Not a good sign.

I would like to try a 650 RE. Warmer days please.
