So, beyond being fun, what do you think of the Del Mar as an urban runabout? Think it can actually execute the mission? I ask because I would like to jump into the electric pond but don't want to get an unexpected shock 😬
I’ve not ridden any other electrics above E-bike level, other than the livewire, and now the Del Mar. The company had an area set aside for test rides, their displays, and company info/reps etc. one of the staff was stunting around a little on a Del Mar, quick tight turns bunny hopping it off curbs and a wooden stand ramp. I think I’d want the bars back a bit, legs were perfectly under my butt, narrow in the right places, good ground clearance, very natural standing on the pegs, Quick handling, maneuverable. Very cool design. I’d easily pick it over the LW 1 as a city bike.
Still expensive though, I thought they were supposed to be closer to $12.
It’s not that it’s so fast as it can be so ridiculously quick in S mode. I believe the LW rep’s words regarding it were “it could get away from you”. In the wrong hands…
Personal quirk, for me it’s an odd feeling being clutchless. I think it’s something I would miss.
