I cleared a spot in the stable today.

I sold it to a new employee. He saw it parked in my shop and fell in love with it.
Worked out great. I was going to put it up for sale this spring. Now I don’t have to deal with tire kickers and he’s a happy biker.
I call it a win win.

you can spend days polishing and lubricating just one springer.
the only springer I liked was the Bad Boy. back springer. no polishing.

My daughter had a little Ninja for her 1st bike.
It was a great first bike for her. She eventually got an 883 Iron. I still have the Ninja. We are discussing what to do with it. We could remove the graphics easy enough, and maybe make a first bike for her son, maybe not.
The Iron's gone that would be cool for the kid.
I have several options for the kid and a few years.
Here's a picture of Mandie, with my son on his Mom's bike, and me on my R60 about 12 years ago.
We have all three of these bikes still.

Mando on her Iron, and them other bikes again.

While I'm at it my son on his Tiger. He has 3 Hinckley Triumphs now.

There is a reason for my madness.
I never planned to keep both springers. I only wanted the red striped but they were sold as a pair only (eBay deal)
Selling them as a pair hurt his bottom dollar. I got them at a better price per bike which made my red striped a better deal for me.
They were going for around $16,000-$18,000.00 for a low mileage red striper in stock form at that time. Reds are more sought after than blues.
I bought both for a not much more than one red striper. I don’t remember my final bid so worth more.
The seller wasn’t very happy with the final price. I can’t really blame him.
He should have sold them separately but he didn’t want to mess with two sales.

I bought them in winter from Florida and made a vacation out of going to get them. She was happy to get on the beach and I was happy getting a bike I have desired since 1997.
My plan was to sell the blue striped in spring but the bottom dropped out on heritage Springers in spring of 23 so I just let it sit until the prices went up. They don’t cost anything just sitting. Especially uninsured or not plated.
This year the prices have come up quite a bit so it was perfect timing for me and him.

The Bad Boy is another list of mine. Hard to find a stock one. I belong to a FB Bad Boy page. I put the blue striper up asking if anyone would trade and I would add $$ for a stock one. No stock ones replied.
Someday hopefully.
I gotta get this left leg to heal up and loose the big plastic boot so I can get it off the stand and shift it.

Spring is sneaking up on us.

That’s a tough choice there Walt. The little Ninjas are great fun bikes in the twisties. I’d ride it like it is. I’m secure in my manhood. 😁
Maybe a young lad not so much. It would be cool if he could ride a bike that he has some connection to.

You have most definitely raised all your kids and grandkids well. Keeping knees in the breeze.
I’m kinda envious. I wasn’t fortunate to be able to have a son and my daughter has no interest in riding her own but loves a ride on the p-pad. Wife is the same way.
I do enjoy them going on rides.

Cool sporty for subject matter

Thanks Kirk,
I Thank God for the motorcycle connection with my family.
I remember years ago my wife and kids saying "if we want to hang out with Dad we better get motorcycles".
Anyway it keeps us going.

I don’t like the tank but the pipes are cool. On that sportster.

I am so glad to hear you are secure in your manhood. I assume you are insinuating I am not.
Truth is I am too old to give a shit. What I am saying is o don’t care what some one thinks. I care what I think.
Let me put it this way. I don’t care if a girl uses the boys entrance. But I will stick to the boys entrance myself.

You ever hear a Johnny cash song Boy Named Sue?
I am a product of the era. And I am actually pretty happy about it.
So to me ette is a feminine suffix. I am pretty secure in that belief.

Yes. I do understand the springer twins. Knowing full welll the ups and downs of the market. I think you are right that the bad boy wasn’t produced in big  numbers therefore should be fairly rare .

As to riders in the family. Years back my stepson got interested in riding. I went to shows and dealers with him . But I never really encouraged him as such. He eventually bought a Honda , I think F3? As one kind of sport bike.
Well he was into that for a couple of years and eventually sold it. Much to my relief.
My son I bought him a mini bike he enjoyed . I would have encouraged him to off road riding. Later on I bought him a couple of projects .i figured he would be a safer street rider if he put the bikes together himself to have more respect for the machine.
First one was a hardtailed 60’s 500 triumph roller.
He never bothered with it. Then I bought 3 similar Yamahas. R5 and 2 RD’s to make into one bike. But he rather go hang out someplace.
Years later he bugs me to work on my project bikes. But at 36yo I think he is too old to learn to ride in the crazy traffic around me. Trails like at M143s place would be great.
I grew up as this area became urbanized and worse . And even I don’t want to ride in it anymore.
So that’s where I am at with my kids.
One of my girls hopped on the back often . My wife ride pillion . But none of them rode their own and honestly I am good with it !

I was riding a 650 Triumph in a hardtail frame when I met my wife.
She rode on the back for a while. After a few years I got her a rider education course for Christmas and a 305 Kawasaki. She has had several bikes since and now has a Bonneville Special. She loves the Bonneville, it's the first bike that she picked out for herself.
In 2000 I bought a W650 new for her,(I couldn't own a Jap bike). Anyway she never really liked the bike, but with young kids she didn't have much time to ride anyway.
I really like the Kawaker, she wants to sell it because she loves her Triumph. It's for sale, priced about 1k too high 'cuz I want to keep it.

That thought never crossed my mind.

Yes, It's one of my favorites from Cash. My grandma had a album with that song. I discovered it when I was around 5. I used to sit in the back room on the house boat and spin Cash and Elvis LP's when I spent the week with them during the summer.

Sunday Morning Coming Down is another one of my favorites by Cash. It didn't get much air play from what I can remember. Ring of Fire, Folsom Prison Blues, Jackson, etc. got the most play.
That era from the 50's-70's IMO is one of the best era's of the USA.
The cars, music and bikes had the best look, just took more maintenance to keep them going. Hard to pass up a late 60's MOPAR without twisting your head off trying to give it a good look.
Newer stuff is like a Bic lighter. Not worth putting the money in them when they get old. The electronics kill the worth.

The newer cars hold up better but, I haven't had to do exhaust work, alternator, ball joint, etc on my 18 Challenger. My 73 Challenger ate starters and alternators and ball joint replacements sucked!
Still much more pleasing to the eye.

18 is likely what they cost new. I doubt I would even pay that for the bad boy.

By the way, good luck with your leg . This is from that dog? I can’t believe it caused this much damage. You been in that boot so long I don’t remember why.
I been chased by dogs but they never hit me. There was one down the street from my dads that went after me everytime I went by . I really should have beat it or something . Boy I hated that mutt. Sometimes I would tease it . I kinda deleted the word hate from my everyday vocabulary, but I am sitting here pissed off thinking about the damn thing.

IMHO dodge got it wrong with these later challenges.
The charger should be tge 2 door.
I did almost buy one a dealer had a few from  New Jersey state police. I didn’t beside all the wiring hanging where the computer was ripped out scared me off .
But the car had all the heavy duty suspension and big motor.
I never had the money to play with cars. I fixed them when I was a kid bcz I had to . Usually. lol.

I do disagree with whatever you said about a bike sitting in the garage . That’s why you have my triumph. Around here they can corrode , get mice , if they are new enuff can depreciate book value , tires age , etc etc .
So in your case I sold it before I had to deal with any of that. I have taken steps to eliminate some of that, but I still don’t like a bike sitting there.
That said I might die with my /2 which at this time is my only registered bike. I am doing a lot of PT in the hopes of riding some in the year ahead.

The right leg got the dog bite in mid September. It's just about healed for the most part. Just scabby now.

Mid October the left angle and left knee joints both got a bacterial infection called klebsiella.
That was the forth time the knee has had some type of infection.
This year was first for the ankle & knee both. The ankle has been a tough one to heal and the knee is crying enough already.

IMO the Challengers look the closest to the old Challengers than any of the other brands. Although I wish they would of but in the slapstick vs the new console shifter. At least they didn't put a column shifter in.

I agree on the Charger being a 4 door. Dumb idea. They Should have come up with a new name or called it a Monaco.

For 2025 they ditched Challenger and created the Charger Daytona which is a two door.
While looking for a new car for my wife, last fall, we came across the Daytona in a lot. She loved the looks of it. The salesmen came out and said "So your interested in going electric?" "HUH?" we replied. "No V6?"
Turns out for 25 they were all electric. Shot that one down.

2026 the Daytona has a v6 six pack and the four door Charger is back. No more Challenger :(
I don't plan on getting rid of mine so no real bother for me.

I wish she would have waited until this year instead of buying the 25 Mustang with a 4 cylinder turbo. I'm not a fan. Even though the 307 HP is the same between the 4-turbo and her '13 Mustang V6 I prefer the V6.
They only offer the 4-turbo or V8 and I couldn't talk her into a V8. The turbo lags when you hit the pedal, even in sport mode whereas the V6 just took off.
I don't drive it much so no real bother to me.
