Ride in peace Dan. Another victim of the left hand turn.

Dan was the retired driver of the original monster truck BIGFOOT. He was a multi champion in monster truck racing.
Bigfoot as been a big part in our little town for several years. A lot of folks are wanting to bring out their torches and pitchforks after the 40 year old man in the SUV. He left in an ambulance “for minor injuries”.
I suspect it was for his protection.

It was a beautiful day to put in some very fine second cut hay.
Grand kid enjoys time at my buddy's farm.

We put new horn knobs on Willie the Ox.

Farm life for kids can be a blast and create a good work ethic.
The only part I never cared for was picking up hay and the snakes you find just before tossing the bale up at eye level. The first time it happens it’s a pants filler. I never  got used to it. But it learnt’ me to get’er done.

We never had a farm but as a kid living in a small town loaded with Germans a lot of my friends didn’t mind having an extra hand getting chores done then he could play with mini bikes.

Where was st  Patrick when u needed him?
Where I grew up I was surrounded  by farms and a private hunting ground. All gone. Allthough a truck  farm held out until the old guy died
And one orchard is going well but they sold  the farm rights to the state do it can only be used for farms.
Poultry , milk , and orchards . I miss them. My great  grandfather still had goats and chickens but got too old to do dairy anymore . I do have a farm in the Philippines . Mangos. But with my back I don’t know if I ever will fly there again and my father in law is too old to work it. Still farm life there though for most.
My wife never said growing up on a farm was much fun . A lot of work . One worked to eat. No wheat . Used to be sugar cane but now it’s all rice , fish and pigs. Goats are a delicacy . Draft animals are getting rarer .

Not Amish. Just German. A lot of Germans settled in that town..They have winced gained a sister city, Marbach am Neckar in Germany in 1990.
There are Amish communities a little north west of Washington.

See, that’s fun.
For the Everyman.
You don’t need  a 165 lb bike with no seat
that is so specialized that’s all it’s good for.

Great pic my friend.

Thanks Grado,

Vintage trials, all it took was: 1 tooth smaller counter sprocket, new radial rubber, fork springs and oil, and have at it.

This Alpina is the most Trial orientated of the Alpinas that had higher seats both before and after this Model 166. The seat is so low riding while sitting is awkward. I rarely sit but you're right, it is good to have a seat once in a while.

I had mine water tight too.
