For sure. Great songs, for a long time. |

Phil is an amazing artist. Plays just about every instrument, sings, writes and so on.
We have a preacher at church that reminds me of him. He is awesome at preaching, teaches our youth, plays guitar, sings and covers for the other drummers when they can’t be there. He’s bald too. Good man. I woke up with this one spinning around in my head. https://youtu.be/SFEewD4EVwU?si=wJAK3h8_njn3cEjh . You meet some of the best folks behind bars. |

BST were very good.
Is Collin’s completely bald now? I hope not. I am kinda sick if the look. Yule brenner and Ernie shavers were cool, But it’s been over done with so many people walking around looking dick heads. Thank god I still have hair. Extremely thinning. But still I have some. I don’t even like shaving my face. I can’t imagine having to shave one’s head. Talk about a multi talented musician , Prince was likely the best . Weird guy , but incredibly talented. We sure lost a lot of people thru drugs. Horrible. Collin’s seems to have avoided that scene. God bless him .

I just found out Joey Molland, the last remaining band member of the Welsh band Badfinger passed away March 1.
https://youtu.be/N4NXero2HGQ?si=1lnlf2ZZ95pk3jpv Badfinger was one of those great early 70’s bands that got caught up in the greed of producers, album companies and managers causing two of the bad members to commit suicide. RIP Joey. . You meet some of the best folks behind bars. |

I know very little about bad finger
Maybe if I heard their songs I would recognize them . Idk. Most musicians disgusted with the music sleaze simply quit. They don’t kill themselves over it. Sleaze maybe a catalyst but it’s not the underlining cause. These guys may have much deeper issues. Otherwise there would be upteen thousands of musicians dead everywhere.

The good old days doesn’t mean these days are particularly bad ya know.
However Ed Sullivan was definitely a good part of the old days. https://youtu.be/b-VAxGJdJeQ

Here we go guys.
Same song, maybe 10 years apart. Eddie Cochran, many believed was the next Elvis. Before he died, killed in a car accident at I think 20 years old, wrote this classic. One of the last gasps of the idyllic 50s. 10 years later, what a difference a decade can make. Blue Cheer covers Summertime Blues, when LSD replaced beer and the drive in, and Viet Nam killed off the Bobby sockers. Great song. https://youtu.be/Ti38LFY7x1Y?si=kl4YTIjiTgJagaFI https://youtu.be/KKT0Kz5VGhw?si=d5sB1BKwWCgfEe2L |

Eddie Cochran was good.
Blue cheer kinda average . You missed the who. How can you possibly missed the who ? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DOp3yLvQu1E I also dispute your comment that the 50’s ended with Eddies death being the end of the 5O’s music . If that’s what you meant . I mean he did die in 1960 Which does seem tuff having been so close to buddy hollys death in “59 But the truth is Chuck berry was still charting Rick n roll hits in 1964 I can’t say off the top of my head when Elvis last chart hit was . Burning love . Definite rock song May have been on the early 70’s So 50’s rockers were still rolling. If I could think of more , When was garden party by Ricky Nelson? And there was many many black artists Thst had hits in the 50’s and Kept it going . James brown comes to mind. I don’t dispute Cochran had a lot of great stuff going on , he was ahead of his time in the studio . But his death did not define an end to an era. LSD did not replace beer.

Yes I do. The 50’s would be Good Ol days for sure. The Golden Days. Women would probably disagree and say the 80’s was better. I would call 1929-1945 bad years. The Good Ol’ days are different for each race, person and generation but in my life I wouldn’t call this the best years. I have had better and worse years. It’s part of the ride. The 70’s, 80’s and 90’s is what I remember as good ol days. I was young, healthy and having a blast. https://youtu.be/GI46_zBGv1A?si=4YSK7AlMTYExXvi3 . You meet some of the best folks behind bars. |
I can relate. Archie was great. You had to love Edith. Meathead, everyone knew a meathead in real life. And Gloria was gorgeous. |

Meathead is still a meathead in real life

Well I am not getting into social engineering .snd I am not going to apologize for being a white guy. we have had enuff of that crap with Biden.
Maybe u weren’t around in the 50’s I was and I can tell u that except for air raid drills life was simpler and much more patriotic and I fell pretty good . Or rather I didn’t know not to feel pretty good despite my dad’s moods. The hardy boys , sat morning westerns Smallish New England town with farms and factories along the railroad. Cops that were trustworthy .even Lord’s Prayer in school My kids didn’t have that freedom to roam wherever . Woods fields orchards . They were not fenced in like today . Or McMansions or state owned property to save forest for the people as long as they don’t actually use it. We didn’t lock our doors or have scum bags stealing deliveries off our front steps . now it’s car jacking . Shootings. Are this the makings of my kids golden age? The jury is still out. I hope the trend is for peace and prosperity . I am still alive which in of itself is amazing so I have hope.
