I was hoping Indian would bump up their engine displacement this year. 112CI against 131CI just makes it an uphill climb.

I did see the are adding rev limiters this year. With HD @7000 & Indian @7700 max

I hate rev limit racing 😔

Re: Racing

Looks like WSBK has ditched rev-limit racing and going to pick the next manufacturer/rider champion with fuel flow regulations.

“All six manufacturers will race with 47kg per hour of fuel flow at the start of the 2025 campaign as per the new rules, with a tolerance of 2 grams per lap; there could be a penalty for exceeding this. A manufacturer who is 12 concession points clear of second place could see their fuel flow reduced by 0.5kg per hour at a concession checkpoint, which is every two rounds. It could go the other way, too: a manufacturer with concessions could opt to increase their fuel flow by 0.5kg per hour. As part of this rule, there will be no rev limits imposed by the FIM.”

WSBK Philip Island round is going to be interesting with both races being flag to flag due to rear tire only good for 11 laps😳

Thanks for the update.
It kind of seems weird that the limit is based in kg/hour when the race is already limited by total load of fuel per race. (21 liters per 45 minutes ?).
Maybe what this flow rate limit does is restrict a machine from momentary bursts of extreme output. A flattening of performance spikes across the entire race. (?)

Well…….one kind of attributes this to the Joh Rea effect.
I mean, the won the championship like 6 times in a row.
It got so lop sided that series got boring.

They are just trying to keep the racing close.

Joh Rea? More like gonorrhea.
Punishing people for winning.
That's horrible . How dare this guy be so successful ?
This is  participation trophy mentality.
Imagine if the powers to be did this to babe Ruth or Mark Spitz or Rocky Marciano ?
This is exactly what happens in communism .
Marxist BS. Destroy excellence in the name of making everyone the same.
What’s even the point of so called racing then?
It seems like whenever I show a little interest racing I end up disgusted.

Well, it’s not just the rider is/was good.
The bike and team he was on was just very, very strong.
They all got penalized when the came out with rev limiters.
The more they won, the more they limited them.
And it wasn’t just a once a year thing.
The stewards could and did do it on an almost race by race thing.

But, what’s the alternative?

One team gets so sucessful an wins all the time it’s a given, it gets boring, people stop coming to the races, and the whole series, all the teams, can’t make money and lose their jobs?

That’s the reality.

I try to look at it as the racing is but a part of it, and to keep it interesting they, the promoters and owners of the series keep changing it up to keep everyone scrambling.
A new set of rules each year, the race is as much as how the teams adapt as how the riders adapt.

It’s just the way it is.
Keep it close, make it exciting, the people will come.
And pay.

No. The reality is it’s not about real racing .
It’s trying to manipulate the gate.
I would love the same team to win again .fukem!
Ok so all promotions want to promote their events.
But Ali’s fights weren’t finagled by shit rules. He was promoted as the best and people paid to see it
Trying to become world wresting federation of moto racing is deplorable. They can’t back their champion they need to disband.

Says you.
You said the champ won too many times and the sanctioning body keeps trying to adjust the rules to change that .
Meaning they aren’t backing their champion .
They should be promoting him as the best ever .
I am sure the also ran competitors moms will still watch the races

MOTOGP is going to be showing on several Fox sports channels for 2025.
I know most of us use the video pass but this is good news. Hopefully it gets more Americans interested in the sport.
