I've wondered why KTM has even played in the GP game since their own CEO has stated that they won't make a powerful sport bike for the road. Seams a waste of money. BMW makes more since.
I agree.

The KTM dealers I’ve visited are well-stocked with three versions of the same bike in different livery.
From what I can figure, there are few differences between these brands. It feels very FoMoCo or GM from the previous century - “which taillights do ya like”?

In downtime, I’ve been playing through the six-plus hours of the Barcelona test.

KTM put Acosta on track with this abbreviated upper fairing for a few laps. It was right in the middle of an interview with Di Giannantonio, which caused DiGi to pause deadstop.
“It looks like it’s from a scooter…”

slowly grinding though the file.
from, say just under 38 minutes to go in the second day's test, Crafar drops in on the regular MotoGP announcers and starts downloading what he's learned.

Martin and the Aprilia front end (best feel) get on well - right down to business.
Aprilia learning where they lack re: Ducati.
Yamaha is pulling back from electronics in the way Honda did, as per Crafar, both times because Rins gets involved with the program and frees it up.
Quartararo can't count the number of engine and frame specs he's tried this season.
Testing of at least one-way and maybe two-way rider/team communication.

I hope they get someone equally as observant of the sport's minutiae

I expected him to take the #1 and glad he did.
I wonder if 93 will get that chance for for a #1 that’s not between an index and ring finger?

Rossi partisans have been telling him he’s number 1 for years.

Very cool.
I heard he’s been doing this for a few years.

American style racing over the pond.
Who woulda thunk it?
