The world behind, gone.

Soaring roaring
A road crowd-surfing up
A wave of rock.
The penninsula spine
Greedy wide of asphalt track
Time for the trees and wind gusting
Glimpse of the Bay, SFO
Gone behind.
The world shrunk to mirrors and gaps
Space for the bike to slip between
Sheet metal clothes of car and truck.
Tires grabbing pocked pavement potholes twisting bars, the road punches up
between contact patches, rubber at the road and rubber at the hand grips.
The bike spirals horizontally -
Wind driven trash moving on a different vector, spastic through traffic, invisible director.
Filtering to the front of the cars on the red
A three dimensional problem in a four dimensional world
Tiny windows of possibility
Stupid risks again and again and again
A junkie hit survived. Addict logic thrives.
Fate and skill and randomness all in one throw, the motorcycle and i the tumbling dice themselves on the pavement felt below.
You have to be alive
To not be dead

I wish I hadn't posted it. It's so unfinished, and now it's just sitting there staring at me.
I've been fiddling with it for a few months.
I got a bit of hubris when a friend asked me last night to share something I've been working on; thought I could post it here, too.
Consider it a peek at a work in progress. Something unimportant... like a short, stacked-stone garden wall. Maybe a foot high, 18 inches tops.

Thank you Grady. I bought this one to ease the pain of selling the Road Glide.

It’s a 2014 CVO Softail Deluxe. When it came out I lusted it but could not get myself to pay $30k for a bike.
I found this one 100 miles away for $16k.
Sunday was our madden ride.
It has an air ride suspension that gives a better ride than my Road Glide did even with its Ohlins shocks.

I took it out solo yesterday to test the modification of the pipes. That 110 motor is a beast.

Yes, the fenders match. I think the only softails that look real good with bags is the heritage and the heritage springers. The bags on this deluxe are a compromise. Hard to do any weekend trips two up without some bags.

Not mine but same bike bagless.
