Re: Craigslist Curiosities

motogrady

IMHO......the Honda, that's a 300 to 500 dollar bike. Having the title helps big time, but really, there is a ton of work on that one.   A lot of guys would just part it out.  Hate to say it, but that's where the money is on that one.

The SX,  now that's a different story.
It would be worth more if it was stock........they are becoming hard to find.

Even tho it looks to have a Tracy bodywork kit of some sort, not a lot even know what they are nowadays.

Weird, the one in Pittsburg is in the same neighborhood where a guy had a survivor 650SX maybe 2 months ago.  Wanted 500.  Sold in a day.

At just 5,000miles from new and $4,900 this looks like an excellent buy for someone.

I've never ridden one, but always admired the styling and sheer outrageousness of them. They were one of the fastest things on the road back in 1985 and despite criticism for poor handling I have seen first hand how quick they were in the right hands. The fact that they remained virtually unchanged for over 20 years speaks volumes for them, although one of the things never addressed was the small gas tank capacity, the bike wasn't known for its great gas mileage and when ridden hard its range could be limited to well under 100 miles.

Version two (VMAX), was/is even more outrageous but suffered a poor release date as it coincided with the financial crash of 2008. They did increase the size of the gas tank slightly, but the beast now used even more fuel with its 197hp and 700lb weight! But it survives these 12 years later, once again pretty much unchanged, so they must be doing something right.

It's on my list of purchases when I win the lottery!

$4k? Really? I see $1,800.00. Am I wrong or just cheap.

I couldn't get into the second gen Vmax.
Too stylized. Filigreed.
Solidified my attraction to the first.
Outrageous with just enough flair.

Not a Craigslist ad but it has my curiosity.

Looks like it would be a hoot to ride on our Ozark twisties.
Also looks like I would need some stilts.

The exhaust of the Indian is starting to kill me. I'm souring on the design.

But that Sidecar.  I'm actually tempted. I've been itchy, lately.

Re: Craigslist Curiosities

hacksaw
problem here is the subject vanishes when the ad runs out. you guys that posted the pictures alone did well.

i agree with F2 that custom japper if it runs well, $1800

Doyle brought his vmax to one of the deals rides.  that guy could ride it.
