Thanks for that link.
I never knew it’s weak point was the handling.

I find it interesting that Americans own most of the Brittens.

Indeed!

I never knew it was a chatter-fest. Built before flex was understood to be desired.

A lot of myth-busting. Heavy wheels.

I randomly meet the former No. 8 leaning casually in a doorway at the Ducati shop when that existed in a former 7UP bottling plant here in Capitola.

I needed a an oil filter and crossed paths with a Demi-God. No one was around.

Told my young son... 'go ahead. Just barely touch the end of the handlebar...'

I heard them whispering 'be careful'.

I did hear them signing when I saw it run at Laguna, as seen in the video link.  Thanks for that!

I've been thinking about cylinder head design, and this all started when I remember Kevin Cameron mentioning that Britten had rotated the intakes toward the center of the combustion chamber. And there you we a short glimpse of the top of the piston! Interesting. Such a shallow valve angle. And maybe two different valve angles ??? Swirl inducing?

Ducati engineers seam to be poached from other MOTOGP manufacturers quite regularly. Gigi appears to just let it roll off his back saying that they welcome young blood not only in their riders but engineers as well. I wonder if this is one of the reasons why it took Ducati 15 years and eight bikes on the grid to win a championship.

Is Ducati just not sharing the wealth with their engineers or is it more of a lack of appreciation that is causing these engineers to jump ship?

Something I’ve never considered much is the weight of the GP riders.
Moto2 and Moto3 use the combined weight limit rule. MOTOGP uses bike weight limit rule.

With pole positions and grid positions being declared by less than.040 seconds 8 pounds can make a difference giving the Spaniards an advantage.
Should the weight limit be changed to a combined weight?

Re: Racing

..be it known, in lands far and wide, motogrady says no.

Nix the weight rule altogether.
Do away with the spec tire from one manufacturer, give each rider his choice of rubber.
Unlimited should be the number of motors a team can use.

Free rein should be the instrument in the quest for the absolute best.

Damn the money.........long live Motogp!

Only way yu get that is outlaw street racing.
Which of course isn’t really feasible in gp.
Just as it is in government socialist minds.
Regulation . Regulate everything the same for every body . More control . More money for connected elite , less freedom for the
Individual in this case individual teams

Don't know about street but dirt you can only go back so far in the Nationals.
I think it's 5 years.

Thing is, from the get go, and HD was one of the big ones that started it, with  Class C, organized Racing is mostly a tool for the factories to sell more, new bikes.

I think Yamaha's pulling of the R6 from the street set my mind on that edge, too.
I had this feeling that all of the 600s were off-line.

The Honda is still offered. ABS and Non-ABS. Showing a nod toward purposeful toward track use and an offering to save a grand for the street nutters.

Re: Racing

Holy crap.

DORNA has lost their minds.

I just saw where they are gonna start monitoring tire pressure during practice and the actual race.
All this data will be collected in real time, encrypted,
and sent to the coneheads on the sidelines so they can determine who’s being good and who’s being bad.

If you don’t stay within manufacturers specs,
qualifying laps can be dropped by officials, and
if pressure doesn’t average whatever they say,
during the race, penalties can be handed out.

Will they ever stop?

Holy crap is right. That seems to be over the top.

“Quartararo finishes pole!!!. Bagnia comes in 2nd .027 behind Quartararo. Marquez takes 3rd at .625 behind Bagnia!!!”

“What’s this? Official tyre pressures are in. Quartararo’s rear tyre was .045 pounds under spec. Bagnia’s front tyre is .037 pounds over spec. Marquez tyres come in dead on spec!
Marquez is now on pole!”
