I hear ya'.
See that.
But my feeling is this is an artifact of the situation.
Testing.
Camera rig.
Some of it is late in the day - fatigue, track temp concerns.
And there's a need to maintain position, so as to keep the bikes in the picture frame.
Just racing a YSR50 for a short while showed this ham-fisted rider the elegance of having acceleration and braking completely delinked.
Eliminating the transition between the two modalities was sublime, making it easier to be definitive with commitment to throttle or brake.
I've never ridden a motorcycle that had a slipper clutch, but I would love to sample that experience. I think that does not split the baby. Rather, it puts it together.
As to the strong feeling of engine braking in the lower gears - I feel that, too, and chalk it up to the fact that I ride at waaay below racing speeds. I'm not up at the redline tipping in. I'm so low in RPMs that the engine easily falls on its face.
Especially the Buell.
Ratana the Katana does seem to slow more when rolling out in the upper RPMs.
I'm going to have to go out and test these posits.

Supports splitting everywhere.
