Thoughts...................SpiesLives pays the price for sleeping on the job.  Rossi dnf really hurts mad4, and really really hurts Allred. Whatarush gets immediate dividends on dropping Rins, Zarco pulling good points proves he was a good replacement.  Marc Marquez and his no fini spoils what could have been a good points day for Fat2.  Grado again flirts with being the first to pull a hat trick, as there were a few times during the event he had 3 of his guys in the top 4.  But alas, ''twas not to be, Quartarano and his bizarre last few laps saw to that.
Team mg pulls high score for the 2nd week in a row, propelling them into a pretty good lead.
Mad4, if Rossi retires at the break, is the best bet at this time to catch the lead team.
Whatarush, FatFat and Oldiron Now are separated by a mere few points in the middle of the pack.
Allred seems to be pulling himself out of the doldrums but could really use a good day.  2 guys out of 3 not finishing, in real life, as the owner, he'd probally be kicking chairs and flipping tables in the pits.

Just remember guys, 2 events before the mid season break.  MM is talking about big changes at Red with the bike.  3 weeks off to heal up will certainly help him, physically.  Orange has the new frame, they might have a strong 2nd half.  There are a ton of Ducati's in it, 3 weeks off to mess with settings,
someone is gonna do good.

Looks accurate, unfortunately đŸ„ș

If a rider's average points drops below 5 per race, can we replace that creaky old codger? đŸ€Ź
😄

We talked about that in the beginning of this season.  It's in the early threads.  Consensus was we stick with who we went with in the beginning. Maybe next time around each team could have the opportunity to just sack, I dunno, 1 to 3 guys a season for no reason whatsoever, call it an OPP, owners prerogative pick or something.
I know a few here would like something along those lines right about now lol, for different reasons.

Does it, just canning a guy mid season happen, yes. But it's rare.  That's why maybe each team should, imo, be able to
do the same, in a limited kind of way.
Off the top of my head, maybe pay a price by collecting nil points at the next race.

Call the move Nil-Pwa or Force Majeure.

Nil points next race may be a bit severe, assuming you mean zero points for all 3 riders for the next race, or do you mean nil points for the new rider for the next race?

But I am thinking there should be some "penalty" for being able to select a replacement rider, after all at this stage in the season there is a much better chance of assessing a rider's "worth" which can give you an advantage over other players who are "stuck" with their original choices.

Maybe a 5 point penalty (total across the 3 riders) for the first race with the new rider?

Idunno.

Maybe just allow one, "at the owners will", per year, on top of what is already allowed?

If you guys think a penalty should be involved, how about deducting 25 points off the team at the time the replacement.  Take the equivalent of a win off the teams running score.

I know Fat2 is thinking on how he could break #93s contract.  Same with mad4 with I think Rossi.
Would either of them sacrifice 25 points to get rid of their non performers, to sign a Zarco at this point?

How about 50?  Would 50 for a Quartarano be too high right now?

Both of the above^, very good thoughts.

Maybe the "at will" firing can only come during the mid-seaon break, and have a window/deadline where the teams can be posted again if changes are desired?

I like the idea, but I'm feeling this may be getting too to far off the racing line.

Proposal:

At the break, make a one rider swap. Write it down at home, and then we'll reverse engineer the season at the conclusion to see if it made any difference.

Can anyone give an example of this happening in real life?

That is, a rider benched or fired during a season.

Very good choice, bro. Zarco has come into his own and I think he will be a great point provider in your team.

Now if we could just get Marquez to sit out one and break out “contract”.
Thanks Bro, MM will turn it around eventually!!!

Zarco, when he decided mid-season to quit riding for KTM at the end of 2019 season. With 6 rds remaining KTM let him go.

I like the idea of being able to switch one rider at the break.

MotoGrady strikes again!!! Once again, well done!

Whatarush, FatFat & Spieslives finally reaping the benefit of a Marquez of old.

Mad4 saved by a timely performance by Baganaia.

Meanwhile Oldiron and myself are sitting in the doldrums with teen figures!

Thoughts.........if you, an owner, could pick any guy to replace a rider on his team, who would it be?đŸ€”

motogrady has all 3 of his guys finish pretty good, squeaking out top points for the week yet again.
Miracle Man Marc Marquez pays off real good with a win.  The value of a 1st, and the 25 points that goes with it, certainly helps FatFat, SpiesLives and Whatarush.

Nothing like a win.

One thinks Marquez would have been better served to just take a season off, but hey, with this win, it shows he's getting close.   With the Summer break, and it's time off to heal even more, who knows, MM
might be a factor to watch in the second half.

Morbidelli, on the other hand just can't seem to get out of that fog he he's in.  One believes he might be the guy to give the boot to at the break.  Rossi lumbers along.

One weekend to go till the break.

Marquez finally earning his keep. Miller and Morbidelli where starting to think that they should be paid for carrying him.
I thought I was going to have a mutiny.
Now maybe Morbidelli can see that he has to pick it up in team M.

Jack knows he can do better so maybe I need to give a bonus to him for his past performances. After all he hasn’t been tossing his bike down the tarmac. I expected to pay a bit more in Ducati plastics this year but he has saved me a few Euros on that end.

Hopefully the upcoming break will give Marquez some time to heal and build the confidence up and Morbidelli can get his head right.
Team M needs some points.

Marquez.......when u think about it, could be a big factor in part 2.  Not only does he get a month to mend, he seems to have become a bit more, how can a guy say it, cerebral?

Since Morbidelli is out team DoubleFat will be signing a contract with Quartararo.
Hopefully he doesn’t do the half season fade like last year.

Team DF is
Marquez
Miller
Quartararo.

I don’t think anyone else has this line up.

Team oldironnow (that's the way they want it spelled ) thanks Franco Morbidelli for his heroic riding this season through pain and injury, and welcome Fabio Quartararo to the team as a replacement rider, pending approval from the motogrady board.

Requests/Notifications of rider replacements have been noted.
Existing team rosters have been reviewed.
Applications have been forwarded to the race committee, which then submitted said request to the
WADA review board, which then submitted the requests to the executive control and review board.
Applications were considered, taking into consideration the lower departments recommendations,
and have been hereby approved.
