And Dani Pedrosa to race the factory KTM alongside Oliveira and Binder in August. . |
Ridin' round in my little hvac service truck these last few days, thoughts have drifted from freon and ductwork to the 2nd half of the Motogp season. The what if's abound. I mean, we all have a chance to, ah, trim things up as far as riders go this week. And so.........
Thoughts. Well, this time, mainly facts. KTM is bringing Pedrosa in for a round or 2. Oliveira is on that team, and is currently top dog. Morbidelli is out for a few more rounds, Crutchlow is filling in for him. Rossi is on that team. #93 has had a month to rest and heal up after entering the fray, some would say a bit prematurely, mostly unscathed. Quartarano is leadin, points wise. Vinales is made it clear, he's leaving Yamaha at the end of this season. And, there are 10 rounds left. Now, one could go back, and look to see how everyone did last year, at each track that they are gonna see again this year. Maybe influence a tweaking of a guy's team at this point in time. But, The Year Of The Covid was so unusual, would that be a wise thing to do? So, I looked back at 2019. There are 7 tracks that will be revisited this year, in the 2nd half of the season, that they ran in 2019. And here is who got on the podium at each of them. Austria, 1. Dovi. 2. MM. 3. Quart. Britain, 1. Rins. 2. MM. 3. Vinales. Spain. Aragón. 1. MM. 2. Dovi. 3. Miller. USA. COTA. 1. Rins. 2. Rossi. 3. Miller. Maylasia. Sepang. 1. Vinales. 2. MM. 3. Dovi Spain. Valencia. 1. MM. 2. Quart. 3. Miller. Argentina. Hondo. 1. MM. 2. Rossi. 3. Dovi. 🤔 |
Last place SpiesLives here,
I'd like to swap Morbid. for Quarter. 1.MM 2.Rinz 3.Quat Thanks! |
dude! Was gonna send out a search party for you! Good to see u stop by. 👍 |
I recently replaced Morbidelli with Quartararo.
Ya'll going to be okay if i take the summer-break grace and do an at-will swap? Mad4's decision to abide weighs on my thoughts.

Yes. Your Quartarano swap was done on the no show rule. Everyone gets, for this year anyway, one "at will" replacement. So yes, you have the right to make another swap. Same with SpiesLives. Morbidelli could be called a no show. That leaves him one "at will". Been toying with a replacement myself. There is a rider available that, well, let's just say may become a game changer in the second half. I've got an at will. But, all my guys are strong.......do I hold em, or go fishing.........🤔. |
I'm going to go for it.
There's no way to know if this system works unless we push it around a bit. Team oldironnow requests of the esteemed Race Committee a rider replacement. We wish to replace Pol Espargaro with Johann Zarco.

Mad4 Mir Rossi Bagnalia Whatarush Mir Miller Zarco Allred Pol E MM Mir Oldiron Mir Quart Zarco Mg Quart Miller Olivero FatFat MM Miller Quart SpiesLives MM Rins Quart Check em guys. |
Thoughts.........imho.....fat2 at this point has the strongest team. Mg had to nix the change he was gonna make, as it would have made his troupe the same as FatFat. Oldiron, in 2 rounds has drastically changed his lineup. Spieslives makes one out of 2 possible replacements. Allred makes a hard but one thinks a strong move, canning Rossi and bringing in MM. The rest of the teams decide not to use the "at will" rule, and hold tight. Olivero crashes And hurts his hand in timing. Marquez wrecks it again the day before the race also. Martin, the rookie that seems to have been off forever, grabs pole. Quartarano says he's not racing for the title, he's taking it race by race, and having fun. And one has to wonder, will The Doctor go not quietly into that dark night, or just ride the next 10 events out. Ain't it cool? |

Thoughts........Oldiron hits top score, his changes paid off. Mg, eh, he'd rather not talk about it. SpiesLives finally has a pretty good day, everyone else is pretty close with points awarded for this week. Have the winds of change began to shift, for this, the 2nd half of the season? |
Coming up on 11:30pm Sunday night........a day after the event........and the race is 🙁just about to come on the tele......😤 |

With gratitude we thank Sr. Pol Espargaro for his valiant effort and tireless passion in flogging his wonderful Honda - that even after the break seems to still lack the standard and legendary... Cómo se dice... Honda performance - around so many tracks this season. We are eager to re-establish this working agreement together again in the future when the situation is more reflective of the success that is sure to come his way. (sets bloody axe to the side) So, we are pleased to welcome M. Johann Zarco and his multifaceted Ground Missile Ducati to Team oldironnow. His thoughtful and yet sometimes aggressive race tactics have for quite awhile indicated a possible synergy that could be productive and profitable for all involved. We look forward to our new venture, and hope to plunder many points together as long as we can keep his mood from turning to merde. And with that, we say “Je voudrais de la soupe!”

Well, Mir once again saved my very average day, with a little help from newly selected MM, but no help from a consistently poor Espargaro brother, further proof that not just anyone can ride that RC213V, and I fear that Pol has little chance of figuring it out before the end of the season.
I had much higher hopes from MM, in fact I thought he would win the race, but he never seemed to recover from that missed corner on lap two. Great race though, made even better by the CycleVisor League! . |
